BELLINI

There are bands that fiddle with their instruments coming up with intricate patterns that amount to a mild orgasm. There are bands that go for the "In Style" approach, with new outfits, groomed-messy haircuts, and tattoos. Then there are bands that come along and play honestly and brilliantly and destroy everyone in their path. Bands that sonically blast everyone off the stage. Bands that have songs that pummel like the blast from Thor's Hammer. Bands that make you realize you should pawn your guitar and pick up a pair of headphones.

Bellini is this band. Bellini is this good. Bellini is a supermodel that will read Tolstoy to you while bludgeoning your head and slicing it off.

On their debut record, Snowing Sun, Bellini have created an amazing chunk of rock'n'roll for those prepared. Constructed from the finest ingredients of UZEDA and Don Caballero, Bellini is a solid outfit. Damon Che (Don Cab) is the enormous rhythm section, playing as if he was a frenzied eight armed octipus. Agostino Tilotta (UZEDA) on the attacking guitar, is followed by drooling Guitar Center techs. Matthew Taylor completes the rhythm section on bass, giving the ship gerth. Giovanna Cacciola (UZEDA) rounds out the band contributing voice, a voice that is urgent and important, so you must listen. Recorded by Steve Albini at Electrical Audio, the album has a heavy sound, sometimes hard, sometimes slow, always aggressive. It is the perfect marriage of bass, drums, guitar, and voice. The experience of the players is evident, this is no ordinary band.
